The New Real Vanishing Coca-Cola Bottle. Maxello Magic is introducing a new version of the classic Vanishing Bottle. The bottle disappearing in a tube has been on the market for a long time, but this new model has liquid inside (you see it splashing) and it even has the real, rounded closed bottom. You can't see any difference from an ordinary bottle even from a few feet away, and even if you see it from below. Yet, it disappears in the traditional way! The photo shows the actual bottle. The trick, which has taken years to develop to perfection is extremely deceptive! www.maxello.com. 1.8.09

Ian Kendall returns to the Edinburgh Fringe, again. Ian Kendall is marking his 18th year performing in the Fringe with the aptly named show Ian Kendall's 18th Birthday Magic Show. When acts who have been to Edinburgh four or five times start using the word 'veteran' you know the definition has been diluted somewhat says Ian! Over the last two decades Ian has put on successful magic shows in all kinds of venues, and this year's event is a mixture of new routines and some old favourites from Fringes past. It's on at the Zoo (down the road from the Pleasance) at 9.05 pm. More details are available at www.iankendall.com. 1.8.09
