Edinburgh International Magic Festival 2015. Some of the world’s most accomplished magicians take over Edinburgh’s Summerhall this summer from 26th June - 4th July 2015. The Magic and Variety Gala Show moves to Festival Theatre, home of the Great Lafayette; there's a new MagicFest Opening Night Party with live show tasters; new adult magic classes for first time this year, and new late night ‘witching hour’ shows for adults only. This year Summerhall, Edinburgh's 'Art Laboratory', is the new MagicFest hub, creating an irresistible world of wonder and adventure with live shows, exhibitions, food, drink and doughnuts all at one magical campus! Kevin McMahon, Artist Director of Edinburgh International Magic Festival, said: "We've dreamed of having MagicFest on one site since we started the festival back in 2010, so it's incredibly exciting to take over Summerhall for 8 days and pack it full of magic. Imagine entering a portal, and winding up somewhere where normal rules don't apply. It's kinda like that but with drink and doughnuts." This is their biggest festival yet. The full lineup can be seen on the MagicFest website: www.magicfest.co.uk/whats-on. (Early Bird Offer: Buy 3 tickets for any of the shows that run for 7 days and receive your free ticket to the MagicFest Opening Night Party! The offer is valid for 3 separate shows only and tickets must be all purchased at the same time. Early Bird tickets can be booked by phone 0131 226 0006 or in person. The offer closes on Friday 22nd May.) 9.5.15

Magicseen Issue 62 May 2015: "TV magic in the UK has arguably been shaped in many ways over the last few years by the output from Objective Productions, and we have head honcho Anthony Owen on our latest cover and inside where we get to find out more about this vibrant award winning company. We also get to chat to Denis Behr, one of the world's best card magicians, and Jasz Vegas, female star of TV's Killer Magic (from Objective Productions, of course!). There's an interesting piece on the famous telepathy act The Piddingtons, we have a live review of the Ehrlich Brothers spectacular illusion show, and Mark Shortland finds himself on the Psychiatrist's Couch (not before time, some might say!). We like to help and inform our readers too, and in this issue we discuss the benefits of branded give-aways as a method of self promotion, plus in Pros and Cons we look at whether it is better to arrive at the close-up gig set up and ready to go or unset. The May issue is also a Masterclass Special one with no less than 6 ideas for you to try, plus we have a ton of reviews (at least that's how much the pile of review props weighed!) as well as a whole host of other entertaining and informative articles and features. You can get your printed or download copy now from the home of the UK's only independent magic magazine, www.magicseen.co.uk." 9.5.15

The Mark Leveridge Podcast, May 2015. The latest edition of the free audio presentation is a Podcast Special in which Mark spends half an hour discussing three of the main issues that face any performer who is thinking of turning pro. It's often the wish or fantasy of semi pro entertainers to be able to give up the day job and concentrate on the thing they love instead, but actually making the jump is a step many fail to take. With this in mind Mark highlights some of the things that need to be thought about, information which he has drawn from his own professional experience, and which he hopes will be of interest and assistance to anyone who wants more information. The May Podcast is free to listen to. www.markleveridge.co.uk/podcast.php or www.markleveridge.podbean.com. 9.5.15
