There's footage of bewildering stunts, cheeky camera tricks, bizarre performances and talented pets mixed in with the magic. The September Mark Leveridge Podcast. Mark writes: As well as being hopefully an entertaining listen, these podcasts also provide help and advice. For instance, does it frustrate you that even though you might do a great close up show, your audiences rarely seem to remember your name afterwards? Well, in the September podcast I reveal a way to help your audiences to retain your name. Then I also suggest a strategy to prevent any problems with securing your fee after a show, as well as comment on the phenomenon that no doubt many performers have experienced of suddenly going blank during a trick! You know how it is, you've worked a routine for years yet suddenly you can't seem to remember what comes next! These plus other interesting topics are featured this month in the free 30 minute podcast which is available from www.markleveridge.co.uk/podcast.php or from www.markleveridge.podbean.com. 5.9.15

Manchester Circle of Magicians Teach-In. Mike Hinde writes: Four reasons to attend the Teach-In on Monday September 7th at the Manchester Circle of Magicians (7.30pm) organised by Quentin Reynolds: A chance to get hands-on tuition from experienced magicians; Get to know more members; Learn a new move; Add a new trick to your repertoire. The annual Teach-In gives you an opportunity to learn something new in a relaxed and friendly environment, as well as getting to know and chat with fellow members. The room is set up with six tables, each hosted by an experienced magician. There are four sessions, each lasting 30 minutes, so each host repeats his session four times. You get to pick four of the six to attend and move from table to table at the end of each session. Each table host will teach a move or trick and give hands-on tuition, as well as tips that you normally wouldn't find in a book or DVD. The sessions are friendly and relaxed, so feel free to ask as many questions as you like. There's a maximum of ten at each table so it also gives you the chance to get to know each other better. Come along and just bring a pack of cards and the coins in your pocket. www.manchestercircleofmagicians.co.uk. 5.9.15
