Christian Farla: Blackpool Convention 2016. Christian Farla performs over 40 pieces, from sleight of hand magic to grand illusions, together with his wife Bianca and 14 strong crew, in his current theatre show 'Night of Illusions' which is on tour in the Netherlands and Belgium. Everything takes place in his 'Magic Castle' were the illusions are experiments, to find the secret of immortality. Jamie Raven will appear on Bruce's Hall of Fame on Saturday 2nd January on BBC 1. Alexander Armstrong will take to the stage as master of ceremonies at the Dominion Theatre to welcome some of the UK’s best-loved entertainers to celebrate the artists who inspired their careers. Joining Alexander in paying tribute to their inspirations are award-winning comedian and actress Catherine Tate, former Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt, Australian film star, singer and dancer Adam Garcia, EastEnders actress and singer Shona McGarty, Britain’s Got Talent runner-up, magician and illusionist Jamie Raven and West-End musical sensation Beverley Knight. Hall of Fame puts a modern twist on the most famous acts of all time. It’s a chance for today’s stars to pay homage to their heroes and find out what it’s like to perform as their showbiz legends would have done. Harry Price: Ghost Hunter. Supernatural drama about the celebrated real-life paranormal investigator Harry Price. When MP's wife Grace Goodwin is found naked on a London street, notorious ghost hunter Harry Price is summoned to investigate claims that her house is haunted. With the help of housemaid Sarah Grey, Harry uncovers a dark history surrounding the Goodwins' Finchley home. Killer Magic, the complete first series, is being repeated back to back on Tuesday 29th December from 0.30am to 3am on BBC 3. "Five young magicians [Dee Christopher, Chris Cox, Jasz Vegas, Damien O'Brien and Ben Hart] compete to avoid facing the perilous killer trick. Ken Joy lectures at the Kent Magicians' Guild at 8pm on Tuesday 26th January. Mike Bonfield writes: The lecture will take place at the club premises: CIU Dunton Green Social Club, 159 London Road, Dunton Green, Kent TN13 2TA (Map). Ken Joy is a well-known Water Rat, who works mainly on cruise liners nowadays with his very successful comedy magic act. He also gives talks on various aspects of show business and appeared for many years as a Panto dame. The lecture will include a film show with footage of many of the famous acts he has known throughout his career. Pantomime Magic: "JezO (aka Jeremy Bond), Cambridgeshire’s favourite comedy magician, is currently playing Wishee Washee to packed houses at the Theatre Royal, Margate, in Wicked Productions’ Aladdin. Meanwhile his brother Tim Bond has produced the music for Cinderella at the Hawthorne Theatre, Welwyn Garden City and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Harlow Playhouse. A number of illusions and effects have been provided by Doctor Bondini for three pantomimes this year: Red Riding Hood at the Greenwich Theatre as well as for Aladdin and Snow White. A local review by Your Harlow said: '…there is one particular special effect in the second half that is worth the entrance fee alone. We won’t give away the surprise but it had the children and adults in awe.'
