The Next Great Magician: Sunday 6th November on ITV. From the programme makers: ITV will showcase the elite of the magic world as they all compete to become The Next Great Magician. Hosted by Stephen Mulhern and Rochelle Humes, some of the world’s best magicians will perform their very best tricks and illusions for ITV viewers – many seen for the first time ever on TV. Over five weeks, each episode will showcase six world-class magicians presenting their A-list material to viewers. These artists are unsurpassed in their craft and hero worshipped by other magicians despite being largely unknown to the outside world... until now of course.

Viewers will see all aspects of magic covered throughout the series: illusions, comedy magic, location stunts, close-up performances... In the first show of the series, US close-up magician Eric Jones gets a helping hand from Rylan Clark and Suzanne Shaw, comedy magicians and double act Young & Strange bring along a furry friend, Jordan Gomez from France reveals his manipulation act, female illusionist Ines has to escape from a terrifying situation, escapologist Jonathan Goodwin keeps the studio warm and Xavier Mortimer blends magic, circus acts, music and comedy.

Ultimately it’s the performing magicians within each episode who judge each other’s performances and decide which act goes through to the final. In the final, all 5 winners from the previous shows will compete against each other for the chance to win their very own ITV special! The Next Great Magician is a co production between Crook Productions and Vaudeville Productions for ITV. "The Next Greatest Magician, Sunday 7pm on ITV" YouTube. See TV Magic for details.

Clue Adventures: The Book of Secrets - Live Escape Game. Now Open in London E3. Live escape games, or locked room adventures, are one of the world’s fastest growing event activities. In London alone they have grown from two such venues three years ago to over sixty today. Each game offers a story for a team (usually of 2 to 6 players) to participate in. The idea then being to escape the room within sixty minutes, by solving clues and puzzles that lead to their escape. It’s like a combination of The Cube and The Crystal Maze set within a short play of which the players are the cast.

The latest room to open in London is the first offering from events company Clue Adventures. Their new game ‘The Book of Secrets’ is a story of magic, mystery and intrigue. The story introduces us to fictional master magician, Alistair Wilson, who vanished, never to be seen again, on New Years Eve 1999. The setting is his former home which is due to be demolished in one hour. Players enter his flat with the aim of discovering, how and why he disappeared and try to locate his famous ‘Book of Secrets’ which is said to contain the real secret of magic. They have just one hour before the building will be destroyed. Along the way there are clues and puzzles to solve. Magic happens at the hand of the players and a few surprises are in store as they discover more and more about this mysterious magician.

With contributions from Marc Paul, Puzzle expert and games consultant David Bodycombe and Producer Paul Andrews – the puzzles and clues are, as you can imagine, innovative, fiendish and fun. The game is open Thursday to Sunday at their studio in Mile End, London E3, for teams of 2 to 6 players. On-line booking is required and the game is suitable for novices and escape room experts alike. For further information contact clueadventures@gmail.com or visit www.clueadventures.com.
