The Decksterity Code. From the producers: Martin T Hart, author of 'Piddington’s Secrets' and producer of the stage show 'Unfathomable', releases his first video tutorial for the two-person mentalist act, 'The Decksterity Code'. With this system, you can instantly communicate the identity of any playing card to your partner-in-magic. You can even perform your tricks using telephones, video calls and text messages. The code can be learned in minutes and opens up a whole new dimension for card magic. "Most card tricks are performed by one magician, but a whole new repertoire comes to life when card effects use two magicians" says Martin. "Imagine your partner who is in London identifying a card that was freely chosen in New York, or your assistant revealing their pockets hold 52 loose cards, each one a copy of the freely chosen card." The new code is a tried and tested success and has already received glowing reviews. It is available as an instant download from www.thepiddingtons.com/the-decksterity-code.html priced at $60 / £49. “This will be in my spring mentalism shows. Highly recommended!” Devin Knight. “This is the best two-person code product I am aware of” Chris Wasshuber. 7.1.17

Liam Montier British Magical Society lecture. Jay Adkins writes: Like many magicians during childhood, Liam Montier became obsessed by magic after seeing a magician perform. Liam studied everything he could find about magic, and by the age of 16, he was performing at weddings and social events. Liam Montier doesn't go to magic gigs any more. He prefers to devote his time to the creative side of magic. For Liam, magic is all about what's new. He isn't motivated by creating a set professional 'act' which he would perform over and over again. He wants to spend his time pushing ideas, forming new techniques and staying at the edge of magic discovery. When asked what he regrets, Liam wishes he had started working as a magician much sooner. Like so many magicians that spend countless hours practicing, he was waiting around for things to happen to him. Waiting doesn't make things happen. Looking back, he understands that the best way to get what you want, is to go out and make it happen. Even just taking a small step forward each day, will get you there in the end. Standing still, and wishing for something, very rarely makes it happen. Visiting Magicians from other Societies are welcome for a fee of £10.00. 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Tuesday January 10th. Should be an enjoyable evening at The British Magical Society, Selly Oak Ex Servicemens' Club, 8 Selly Hill Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham B29 7DL (Map). www.britishmagicalsociety.co.uk.
