The Magic Circle Dealers' Day - London, 21st October. The Magic Circle are pleased to announce a brand new venue for the 2017 Dealers' Day. The event will be hosted at The Crypt on the Green, in Clerkenwell on 21st October from 10am-5pm. This year will feature over 25 magic dealers along with many new features, including a dealers' showcase stage and a social space and cafe. Dealers will also be offering 'hot deals', a new and experimental idea to offer a limited duration mega-deal or discount. The full list of what these deals are, and at what time they will be available, will be listed on The Magic Circle website in the run up to the event. Dealers' Day is free to members of The Magic Circle and the Junior Magic Circle, and just £5 for non-members. Noel Qualter Lecture - South London Magic Society, 3rd October. Simon Rosselli writes: Noel is a professional magician and magic consultant, advising on shows such as 'Help My Supply Teacher is Magic', 'Now You See It' and 'Killer Magic'. In his almost 15 years as a professional magician he's performed several stints at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, appeared at the Harry Potter wrap party, and at a private show for the Saudi Royal family. He's was awarded The Magic Circle Close-up Competition Originality prize in 2014 and 2015 and placed second in The Magic Circle Close-up Magician of the Year 2015. He has released several products to the magic community including Alarmed and iDeck. In this lecture he will share his inventive, quirky, close-up magic. Chris Cross - centre stage at 1pm today! Newcastle's Favourite Magician Chris Cross will be returning to the street in Newcastle City Centre where he learnt his trade. Chris Cross was a regular performer on Newcastle's Northumberland Street with his comedy magic, freakshow/contortion and escapology act for almost 10 years and has since travelled the world. ''Not everyone can afford the theatre and I believe that entertainment should be accessible to everyone... So I'm inviting everyone and anyone to turn up a 1pm on Northumberland Street to watch my big free show in the middle of the street! I will be performing some magic tricks as well as an attempt to escape from a straitjacket - most likely outside McDonald's!" Aberdeen Magical Society's 'Northern Sleights'. Aberdeen Magical Society held its first stage show 'Northern Sleights' in over 10 years on the 14th of September, raising funds for Fishermoss School. A fantastic night was had by all, as seven performers dazzled the audience with a variety of magical styles. Performers on the night included compere Jeff Burns of Fifth Dimension; Paul Rae of Mystery Magic; creator of hit torn and restored thread effect Aberdeen Thread, James Dickson; escapologist Dave Goulding; Carl Howse aka The Great Hootini; stand-up magician Eoin Smith; and president of the society, Garry Seagraves.
