London Festival of Close-Up Magic, Summer 2019. 18th & 19th July – Laura London
As seen on Fool Us and ITV's The Next Great Magician, Laura London will dazzle you with this intimate 1920s card cheating show. Following rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe, her show Cheat takes you on a journey into her life and background as one of the UK's foremost female sleight of hand artists.


24th & 31st July – Dr. Will Houstoun

27th July - Double Bill: Michael Vincent & Dominick Zwolinski
Michael has been named the best close-up magician in the UK three times by The Magic Circle, made multiple appearances at The Magic Castle in Hollywood, and appeared twice on the hit TV show Fool Us. His presentations combine engaging narrative, storytelling and visually stunning magic. He is joined by Dominick Zwolinksi, an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle with 20 years experience, who has performed for over 2 years in the 5 star sell out show Sleight of Hand on the Strand at the world famous Savoy Hotel.


4th August – Paul Gordon
Join Paul Gordon - author of 45 books on magic, and winner of the Magic Circle's Nevil Maskelyne Prize for Literature - for an extraordinary close-up show. His TV credits include The Richard & Judy Show and Des & Mel.  His style is interactive and comedic. His magic is both jaw-dropping and full of fun.


10th August – David Stone
Finishing the festival this year, direct from Paris, is France's Got Talent finalist David Stone. He returns to London for one night only following his sell out run in the West End last April. Enjoy his multi-award winning comedy and magic closer than ever before!

Order of The Magi Manchester Close up Competition. Geoffrey Newton PRO writes: The Order of The Magi Manchester held their annual Close up Competition on Tuesday which attracted a good number of competitors, spectator members and visitors. The evening was filled with good quality magic presented by those who had clearly well-rehearsed their respective acts. After much deliberation by the judges, both magical and lay, Mike Sharples was declared the winner with the Sly Smith Shield for The Best Card Trick going to Adrian Sullivan for The Hand of Cleopatra. On 25th June The Magi presents an evening with James Brandon (half of The Grumbleweeds) about bringing comedy into magic and dealing with hecklers.
