London Festival of Close-Up Magic. From the promoters: Nick Einhorn and Laura London have both enjoyed sell out audiences and 5 star reviews, getting the Festival of Close-Up Magic off to a flying start at the stunning Le Meridien hotel in Piccadilly. Things are set to ramp up as we enjoy performances from Will Houstoun, Michael Vincent, Dominick Zwolinski, and finish with a bang as France's Got Talent star David Stone jets in on the 10th of August. It's a unique opportunity to enjoy top class magic closer than ever before, and rub shoulders with some of magic's top professionals. With only three rows of audience, everyone gets a good view, and the opulent Oak Lounge of Le Meridien with its stunning chandeliers is a wonderful place to enjoy magic. Don't miss out as some artists are only there for one night. There's more magic before and after the show too at Maskelyne & Cooke - London's only magic themed bar, with resident magicians performing Wednesday / Thursday from 6.30pm - 10pm, and Friday / Saturday 7.30pm - 11pm. Why not catch one of our upcoming shows, and session with your friends in the bar afterwards. Thank you to all in the magic community who have supported this festival. Mark Leveridge Podcast July 2019. If you have never tried listening to one of the monthly Mark Leveridge audio podcasts before, this month would be a good time to jump in, because for July Mark is offering one of his annual Podcast Gold compilations. This consists of half a dozen of his favourite topics selected from the last 12 months worth of podcasts: Mark discusses whether social media ever really delivers in terms of creating actual bookings or whether we are simply deluding ourselves : Cancellation clauses in performance contracts can cause more problems than they solve : Do you feel a bit uncomfortable performing for people who know you very well, such as family and friends? Mark looks at why this might be : When creating new magic, should you start with the effect or the method? : Is getting to the magic 'moment' as quickly as possible, always the right way to go? : Online booking agencies make for lazy enquiries and encourage potentially unfair price comparisons. The 30 minute podcast is available free to listen to online or to download to any mp3 player from either www.markleveridge.co.uk/podcast.php or www.markleveridge.podbean.com. 20.7.19

Magic Touch is currently planning a small tour of Peterborough schools and groups to take place in 2020 (see facebook.com/Magic-Touch, and write: We aim to do one show a month, so slots are limited. There will be a 30-40 minute magic show, plus a Q&A session afterwards. The show is called 'Inclusion' with myself (JJ) and Jonathon Shaw performing (Jonathon has cerebral palsy). Our aim is to encourage and promote inclusion and positivity. The show will be in sections and each trick has been carefully selected allowing Jonathan to participate more and have more of a part to play. I did a similar tour about 9 years ago for Sense with Jimmy - who is both deaf and blind, this obviously came with a different set of problems. Magic touch 'Inclusion' is sponsored by Inclusion East CIC. We are also currently crowdfunding to get a small group of disabled guys to next year's Blackpool Convention; please help if you can: www.gofundme.com. 20.7.19
