The David Berglas Award 2024. Many congratulations to Fay Presto, seen here receiving The David Berglas Award at The British Magical Society's annual dinner on Friday, 22nd March. Formed in Birmingham in 1905, The British Magical Society is the oldest magical society in Europe. The first President was David Devant, who was also the first President of The Magic Circle. On Monday 29th April our Living Legend will be the wonderfully entertaining John Styles. A highly accomplished magician who was one of very first to have a restaurant residency at ‘Smollensky's on The Strand’. He has also worked as a consultant and magical advisor on a range of TV and film projects spanning several decades. John is the world’s leading expert on the quintessentially British art of Punch & Judy, presenting these shows all over the world — in some countries for the very first time. And if all that’s not impressive enough, John was awarded an MBE for his contribution to the Arts!

Chris Rawlins Lecture - The Order of The Magi, Manchester. From the organisers: The Order of The Magi (Manchester's Magicians' Society) is very pleased to announce that on the 9th April, Chris Rawlins will be presenting The Helen Moran Memorial Lecture at The Irish World Heritage Centre, 1 Irish Town Way, Cheetham Hill, Manchester M8 0AE. Chris Rawlins has gained great momentum over the last decade. This new lecture sees him demonstrate some new material that you have never seen before. In some cases, you’ll learn new and important details on routines of his you may already know, and in others, you’ll learn brand new and never shared secrets. These include the memory of an entire shuffled deck of playing cards. Two truly impossible drawing duplications - the infamous CTRL-C and ‘Clarity’. Chris' favourite use for ‘DFB’ and a number of other exciting and unique devices, routines and methods. If you love Mentalism - you’ll love this lecture.
