“Lotz
of Magic for Kidz” reflects John Breeds' philosophy of clever magic and fun.
Getting children to enjoy magic and be thoroughly entertained ensures all
important re-bookings and other children (and parents) wanting the same for
their party.
The original effects and routines are described in detail with clear
illustrations and photographs for the construction of the props required. This
with the addition of John’s anecdotes and words of wisdom, gained over many
years of professional entertaining, make an enjoyable read and an encouragement
to produce the props described. These can then be used to perform the
well-structured routines which will enhance any professional magic performance.
Super gags such as ‘The Mains Buzzer Opener’ and the ‘Rat Trap’ give a new edge
to the magician in trouble. The practical method for ‘The Spider on the Back’
makes it easy to include in the magic programme. Combined with strong routines
such as ‘Hickory Dickory Dock’ and ‘Pro Epic’ with interludes of fun with the
likes of ‘The Yes/No Book’ give the whole audience a chance to be involved.
Those who perform walk-about magic will enjoy the routines such as ‘Find the
Duck’ and the use in its many forms of ‘Henry’s Biscuit Steal’ they are full of
fun and give the opportunity to entertain both children and adults together.
This is a practical and more than useful addition to any children’s magical
entertainer’s library, which will no doubt be referred to time and again.
