Paul Stockman Lecture

On Wednesday night we were treated to a brilliant lecture by one of the
UK's top mentalists, Paul Stockman.
Paul opened the evening immaculately dressed and gave us a brief history of his
varied career in the entertainment industry and then presented a very
entertaining chair prediction.
Following a very clear explanation and question and answer session, he moved
onto one of his marketed effects - The Psyclock. Paul then showed us his process
for scripting of effects, this was very informative and certainly appreciated by
all the professionals in the room.
As an example, we were next treated to a story routine, set to music, the
Pendant Curse - an effect that more that one person in the room will now be
adding to their professional repertoire.
Following a newspaper prediction, which again was performed flawlessly, we
entered a discussion about rehearsal and the importance of stage management and
spectator handling. Again, even for the non-professionals this proved most
valuable information.
Paul closed his performance with his effect Back to Becker, leaving enough time
for another question and answer session and the chance to purchase some of the
effects demonstrated.
To quote our current President, Trev Stone - "He certainly ticked all the boxes
for me, smart, clearly spoken, informative, very strong mentalism, entertaining
and most of all, given his level of success, most humble and generous."
I know Paul hasn't hit the lecture circuit hard as yet, but we at the RCM
strongly advise booking him - you certainly won't be disappointed.
Once again from all those present, thank you Paul, it was an absolute pleasure.
