The Cromer Christmas Show

The
Cromer Christmas Show opened last Saturday. Now in its ninth year it is better
then ever, once the show starts, it's seasonal cheer throughout the show.
Regular headliner and local entertainer Olly Day is back for his 5th Christmas
season at the end-of-the-pier. Olly is what we would call an 'all round
entertainer' and in my opinion he is up there with the likes of Brian Conley.
Olly can sing, tell gags and is also a very clever magician.
Also on the bill comedian and magician Martyn James (photo), whose deadpan
comedy and very clever magic and mind reading is like a cross between Derren
Brown, Tommy Cooper and Les Dawson!
A series of dance routines from tap to ballet from the Christmas Show Dancers
followed (Anthony Collesso, Sophie Carpenter, Gina Chambers, Sian Pond, Sinaed
Godin and Joe Atkinson).
The Christmas Quartet made up from Jane Watkins' and Cromer's very own Eddie
Bushell and two of the Christmas show dancers, Anthony and Sophie, provide the
show tunes from classical and pop music to well known Christmas songs with help
from The Cromer Youth Choir.
We must not forget the young children from the local Marlene’s School of Dance
who have bags of energy.
Once again Openwide and Di Cooke have excelled themselves with putting on a
great show and credit must also go to Laura Whyte for the great costumes, and
scenery from Ian Westbrook.
This is the one Christmas Show you do not want to miss this festive season.
(Runs until 29th December 2013 at the Pavilion Theatre, Cromer Pier)
