There is no rest for the wicked. Derren Brown returns in 2013 with a brand new live show, which will embark on a nationwide UK tour from March 2013. The acknowledged master of psychological illusion, fresh from the hugely successful two-year run of his 2012 Oliver award-winning show Derren Brown: Svengali will once again mesmerise, shock and entertain the nation. Derren says: "I enjoy the stage shows more than anything else. Live on stage is the best place for what I do: it's unpredictable, and the audience knows there's no possibility of judicious editing." On stage as well as on TV Derren is in a class of his own, exhilarating audiences with his unique brand of entertainment. For the past twelve years he has created TV and stage performances that have stunned audiences, debunked the paranormal and encouraged many to improve and enhance their own mental abilities. His first show appeared in 2000, Derren Brown: Mind Control, and was followed with Trick of the Mind, Trick or Treat and a series of specials including the controversial Russian Roulette, the hugely popular Events, Hero at 30,000 Feet and the more recent Derren Brown: The Experiments, which won the 2012 BAFTA award for Best Entertainment Show.

The Secret World of Charles Dickens, mirth, marvels and the mysterious - London

Ian Keable, winner of The Magic Circle Comedy Award, performs the favourite magic tricks of Charles Dickens and divulges the spooky practices of Victorian psychics. Charles Dickens, in addition to being one of the world’s greatest writers, was an expert conjurer. He was also sceptical about spiritualism, which was a popular pastime in the 1800s. This humorous and mystifying show recreates, in the authentic parlour room atmosphere of the 16th century Lauderdale House, how Dickens deceived his audiences and why, to quote a famous contemporary, Elizabeth Browning, he was “fond of Ghost stories so long as they were impossible.” Venue: Lauderdale House, Waterlow Park, Highgate Hill, London N6 5HG (Map). 18th June and 30th July at 8pm. Doors open at 7.30pm and pre-show refreshments are available. Tickets: £15. Box Office: www.charlesdickensmysteryshow.co.uk or telephone 020 7263 0261.

30th July at 8pm. Doors open at 7.30pm and pre-show refreshments are available. Tickets: £15. Box Office: www.charlesdickensmysteryshow.co.uk or telephone 020 7263 0261.

For the past twelve years he has created TV and stage performances that have stunned audiences, debunked the paranormal and encouraged many to improve and enhance their own mental abilities. 11th - 15th November

The London Festival of Magic

In the 40th year of the Convention an extra five days of talks and performances were organised to complement the Convention, each day specialising in a particular niche area of magic. Although organised as a "one-off" the Festival had such positive feedback from those that attended that it was repeated last year and is returning again this year too! From the 11th to the 15th of November you'll have a great chance to spend extra time, not only with the star names of the Convention but also many other great performers brought in for the Festival. With tickets available from a single day to the whole week you have the chance to pick an itinerary to suit your particular interests and needs, and as always no events will clash - no difficult decisions between one lecturer or another - you will have the opportunity to see everything advertised. www.internationalmagic.com.

15th - 17th November

The International Magic Convention

The Convention is responsible for introducing many of the present great names of magic to an English audience for the first time over the last 41 years and plan to keep that tradition alive this year too. Surprises are planned, together with some of the very best variety acts in the world, and true masters in the art of magic. The Convention will be held at the Mermaid Conference Centre in the heart of London, offering wonderful facilities, from the evening of Friday 15th November to the evening of Sunday 17th November. A weekend of magical delights with Gala shows of both stage and close-up magic, lectures and seminars, the International Close Up Competition and the annual awarding of the David Berglas International Magic Award to a surprise recipient, and a star studded international line up. www.internationalmagic.com.
