O(n)ver the Shoulders. A magic lecture by Aljaž Šon in London on Wednesday 26th April. International Magic have a new guest lecturer this month and are delighted to welcome Aljaž Šon a.k.a. AllJazz. Aljaž Šon is a magic performer, creator and consultant, with over 10 years of professional experience. In August 2011 Coin On Call, his first original magic routine, was published in Magic Magazine's 'Talk About Tricks' column, written by Joshua Jay. In the same month, he moved to Holland with his wife and two sons.

In the last two years, his Magic career has been growing exponentially. In the summer of 2016, he was invited to be one of the faces of Amsterdam Magic Show (AMS). He regularly performs close-up effects there, before the shows, and entertains everyone with his phenomenal magic and witty (sometimes cheeky) charm.

The lecture will consist of: A short performance and introduction; original material from AllJazz; an in-depth examination of some basic and advanced sleight of hand magic; conversation about history vs. modern times; performing, practicing and his personal creative process. 26th April at 7.30pm. Morgan & West Lecture - Cotswold Magical Society. Peter Kidd writes: On Wednesday 3rd May at 7.30pm, the Cotswold Magical Society is pleased to welcome Mr Morgan and Mr West to The Hucclecote Community Centre. Magicians, time-travellers and all-round spiffing chaps, Mr Rhys Morgan and Mr Robert West present a lecture in two parts. Coding in the Pub teaches quick, easy, practical and very fooling tricks for use out and about (and on stage if you so wish) utilising two people. Even though most performers don't have a performing partner, the lecture goes down extremely well, giving people ideas to take and do in the real world. The lecture also covers other mentalism tricks, both for two-person and solo performers. This is followed by a discussion about character. Morgan & West is a character act and always has been. Rhys and Rob talk extensively about how to create an authentic character which connects with an audience. This is somewhat different from the usual lecture fare and promises to be a very interesting topic for discussion. All welcome. £10 on the door to non-members. The Cotswold Magical Society, Thee Hucclecote Community Centre, Hucclecote Road, Gloucester GL3 3RT (Map). 22.4.17
