Number 1208 - Saturday 19th August 2023
Paul Zerdin: Puppetman. The America’s Got Talent winner is back with a brand-new comedy show for 2023. Join Paul and an array of 'funny and sharp-tongued' (The Observer) creations including Sam, Albert, Baby, Roger the bodyguard and an urban fox, as he takes to the road with a show which promises that 'when you are not laughing, you will simply be left in awe' (Three Weeks). As seen on Lost Voice Guy’s Christmas Comedy Club (ITV), Michael McIntyre’s Big Show (BBC1), The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), and Tonight at The London Palladium (ITV). Magicians will be interested to know that there’s quite a bit of magic in this new show, including a Zig Zag illusion performed by Paul's old man puppet character!
"A Ventriloquist at the top of his game, Zerdin is in a league of his own... a show so polished it shines" ★★★★★ The Scotsman. For booking info visit www.paulzerdin.com/#tour (which includes details of his current Blackpool 'Paul Zerdin Family Show' dates as well).

Modern Mystic League Grand Auction, Blackburn, September 3rd. Brian Lead, Events Secretary of the Modern Mystic League writes: On Sunday, September 3, we will again be holding a grand auction, with lots ranging from close-up effects to larger stage items – many unused or nearly new, and all in good condition. There will be classic effects for adults and children, including some good quality Supreme items, plus books, DVDs, bound Abras and collectables. Items will continue to be added to the list on our website.
This year we are also hoping for an element of 'car boot' or table-top selling. Essential to any auction is the good-natured banter which ensues, and we can guarantee that this will be in good supply. Admission is free, there will be complimentary refreshments available throughout the afternoon and each attendee will receive a free batch of magazines. The sale will begin promptly at 2pm, with viewing from 1.30pm. Please note our new venue, which is not far from the previous one: Woodlands United Reform Church Hall, 457 Preston Old Road, Cherry Tree, Blackburn BB2 5ND. The hall is behind the church, with plenty of parking space. 19.8.23 |
